The CB90H is equipped with adequate brakes, able to stop the boat from full speed on a dime! Braking with reversed thrust in this picture.
There are currently two versions of the Combat Boat, 90E and 90H, presented in the pic in that order. The 90E is smaller and mostly used for medevac and supply duties.

If you're not too preoccupied, the scenery sometimes make you pause for a brief moment to enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature.

The RBS-17 derived from the AGM-114 Hellfire AT-missile. Supposed to greet any ship that enters the Swedish archipelago with hostile intentions. It's mean, fast, powerful, stealthy and shows no mercy whatsoever. You'd never know what hit you, and wouldn't have a clue of where it came from. Laser guidance ensures pin-point accuracy, right on the spot!

Here we are definately having fun! Just kidding - in full NBC kit the world becomes a somewhat limited experience to you. Even so, we are required to be able to fight in such conditions.
All squadleaders have the Ak5B with the SUSAT sight.
All units in the battalion are also equipped with NVG and lasersights for night ops.

The two HMG:s sited forward of the boatchief, very nice to have when you need to suppress the enemy either on the way in to, or out from, a beachhead.

The golden Trident, the recognition mark of the Swedish Coastal Rangers. Since the early 90's the rangers are no longer allowed to wear this symbol on their berets but on their right shoulder. Because it was causing too much ramble and controversy versus other miltary units, at least that's what the decision makers thought. The result is that sometimes, the rangers refuse to wear their berets on official ceremonies in protest, and tend to sneak the trident back up on to their berets whenever possible. Many think it was a stupid idea in the first place to remove the trident (I am one of them), and that the amphibious soldiers should also have a symbol of some sort, like Thorleif, on their berets. Today all men of the battalion are supposed to wear their regiments symbol, and since different battalions belong to different regiments, it all looks like a big mess... a ranger once stated "Let us kick the man responsible for this out of Valhalla, to stick him on a pole and use him as heavy weapons target practice."

98-01-30 Technique training, it's not as easy as it might seem, skiing with 20 kg (40 pounds) of equipment and sometimes with up to 50 kg (100 pounds) and on top of that, a sled jerking you around weighing a mere 100 kg (200+ pounds).

The Swedish archipelago is unique, with hundreds of thousands of islands. Forming a natural barrier to the mainland of Sweden. These islands vary in size and shape in all ways imaginable, well, even unimaginable ones as well. I have a picture here to give you an idea of what it looks like on the map.
