Ovan finnes tre utdrag som jag inte kunde låta bli att lägga upp här, de är från 'Soldatinstruktion För Armen (Alla Truppslag)' anno 1946.

"The human body has a way of telling when it's tired, it falls to the ground to die" - Amfbat Officer
Some pictures of the Swedish Amphibious Corps
Stalking ranger patrol.
Recon/Assault diver showing the Ak5 (Assault Rifle 5) derived from the FN FNC
Three Recon/Assault divers posing for the camera, nice pic. These guys are the Battalions elite. In other words, the elite of the elite.
A video clip on the Recon/Assault divers navigating underwater. Note that the bubbles on this footage come from the photographer! - By Amfbat. Requires Quicktime.
The CB90H is equipped with adequate brakes, able to stop the boat from full speed on a dime! Braking with reversed thrust in this picture.
There are currently two versions of the Combat Boat, 90E and 90H, presented in the pic in that order. The 90E is smaller and mostly used for medevac and supply duties.
The smaller GBoat (Group/Squadboat).
Navigating the Swedish archipelago is treacherous. Our boatcrews go through special training to meet the demands.
If you're not too preoccupied, the scenery sometimes make you pause for a brief moment to enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature.
A nice picture of life as a mechanic on the CB90H.
A ranger showing off a heavily kitted Ak5. Not very practical but it looks cool.
Inspection of personal equipment by a Lieutenant.
Grenade gun. Can also be mounted on the CB90H in place of the HMG.
Another picture of the grenade gun in action.
The RBS-17 derived from the AGM-114 Hellfire AT-missile. Supposed to greet any ship that enters the Swedish archipelago with hostile intentions. It's mean, fast, powerful, stealthy and shows no mercy whatsoever. You'd never know what hit you, and wouldn't have a clue of where it came from. Laser guidance ensures pin-point accuracy, right on the spot!
Live firing of the RBS-17.
Mines! These pack one hell of a punch. Properly deployed, they can sink ANY ship.
The most recently added weapon system, the RBS-70 Surface to Air Missile.
A Ranger standing on the ramp of the CB90H
Marching with a Berghaus, this guy probably had his whole locker and then some stuffed in it.
Here we are definately having fun! Just kidding - in full NBC kit the world becomes a somewhat limited experience to you. Even so, we are required to be able to fight in such conditions.
All squadleaders have the Ak5B with the SUSAT sight.
All units in the battalion are also equipped with NVG and lasersights for night ops.
Video clip: The Amphibious Battalion is an impressive composition of men and materiel working together. - By Amfbat. Requires Quicktime.
The two HMG:s sited forward of the boatchief, very nice to have when you need to suppress the enemy either on the way in to, or out from, a beachhead.
Thorleif, the unit badge of our Amphibious Battalions
The golden Trident, the recognition mark of the Swedish Coastal Rangers. Since the early 90's the rangers are no longer allowed to wear this symbol on their berets but on their right shoulder. Because it was causing too much ramble and controversy versus other miltary units, at least that's what the decision makers thought. The result is that sometimes, the rangers refuse to wear their berets on official ceremonies in protest, and tend to sneak the trident back up on to their berets whenever possible. Many think it was a stupid idea in the first place to remove the trident (I am one of them), and that the amphibious soldiers should also have a symbol of some sort, like Thorleif, on their berets. Today all men of the battalion are supposed to wear their regiments symbol, and since different battalions belong to different regiments, it all looks like a big mess... a ranger once stated "Let us kick the man responsible for this out of Valhalla, to stick him on a pole and use him as heavy weapons target practice."
Finishing the business! Our Rangers move in close and personal to take care of leftovers...

My own pictures...
97-10-02 Me just after setting down my Berghaus after a long night of digging foxholes, covering them up again, and marching. As a bonus, it rained all night. Plenty of fun for all!
97-10-16 Preparations for one of our many inspections often carried out after field-excercices, 3 minutes left...
97-10-29 Groth and I in "the trench", an obstacle being part of the steeplechase which we run in full combat gear (4 km with 20 kg load -about 40+ pounds). Several obstacles are through waist-deep water and water filled trenches.
97-12-12 My platoon marching back from the green-beret ceremony. I'm the second guy from right.
97-12-12 A pic of me in front of my locker, my bunk is the top right one. This pic was taken when I was a private.
97-12-12 A formation of 5 Combat Boat 90H passing by for the camera.
98-01-28 Me posing for the camera in winter gear.
98-01-30 Technique training, it's not as easy as it might seem, skiing with 20 kg (40 pounds) of equipment and sometimes with up to 50 kg (100 pounds) and on top of that, a sled jerking you around weighing a mere 100 kg (200+ pounds).
98-01-30 Hmm, things don't always go as planned, here I'm stuck in deep snow.
98-01-30 The sled, more often cursed over than anything else -except for perhaps the cold- in winter conditions.
98-02-05 "PB Amf Classic" Platoon of 98, all those who are selected to be squadleaders undergo a winter training course. We were actually freezing our asses off when this pic was taken, having removed our winter gear to please the camera.
The De-Luxe Tour of the steeplechase, you don't even have to get wet!
And you don't risk losing your breakfast either! Take a peek... click on the badge below.

The Swedish archipelago is unique, with hundreds of thousands of islands. Forming a natural barrier to the mainland of Sweden. These islands vary in size and shape in all ways imaginable, well, even unimaginable ones as well. I have a picture here to give you an idea of what it looks like on the map.
In the field, catching a rare moment of relaxation.
The Combat Boat 90H (StriB90H) #840, my boat, our boat, my squads' boat. THE boat. Just behind the cockpit on middeck are the mount for the .50 cal HMG, or maybe a grenade gun?
Here's Westling, one of my pointmen, and myself on our boat, posing for a nice pic...
On this clearly illustrated picture, you can see what your mother thinks of you, your CO's expectations and your own. Most interestingly, you can see what you can actually achieve...
Think again soldier... ON YOUR FEET!!! & GET MOVING!!!
