Education and qualifications

Studied German, Swedish and General Linguistics at Trinity College, Cambridge, England (including a year at Kiel University in Germany and two Swedish Institute summer courses in Grebbestad and Uppsala). In June 1979 I was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree (First Class Honours) by the University of Cambridge.

Studied Swedish and Linguistics at postgraduate level at the Department of Scandinavian Languages, Uppsala University.

Was authorized as a Swedish-English translator by the Swedish National Board of Trade. This authorization has subsequently been renewed without interruption, in recent years under the auspices of the Swedish Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency.

Became a member of the Federation of Authorized Translators in Sweden.

Course in social services interpreting/general law at Wik Folk High School near Uppsala.

Was approved (subsequently authorized) as an interpreter between Swedish and English by the Swedish National Board of Trade. This authorization has since been renewed without interruption, more recently under the auspices of the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency.
