The second volume of the "Illusions" isn't much different from the first one, as they were
written and recorded during the same time, I think they were supposed to be one double album,
but record companies don't usually say 'yes' to such things, just take Helloween and their
"Keeper of the seven keys" for one example.
This release contains cool songs like You could be mine, a rocking tune that also can
be found on the soundtrack from the motion picture "Terminator 2 - Judgement day". It's also
my absolute favorite GNR song. Some other good songs: Civil war, Estranged and
Get in the ring. They did a cover of Bob Dylan's Knockin' on heavens door, and
another version of their own song Don't cry with different lyrics. Pretty cool.
In So fine we get to hear the (hidden?) vocal talents (yeah, right) of bassist Duff
McKagan. At the time I really liked GNR, I thought Duff was good at singing, and I liked his
solo album that I still got! I can't understand why I liked him, because he really SUCKS.
The solo album too. I mean, Axl is Pavarotti when compared to Duff. Duff reminds more of guitarist
Izzy Stradlin, who unfortunately sang on a few tracks on both "Illusions". This cd is like
its predecessor, a decent recording of hard rocking music.
