    Rating:
GNR's latest (and last, up to date) album is basically a cover album, where they do some of their own favorite music, and most of it is punk/rock. Some of the bands covered are The Damned (New Rose), UK Subs (Down on the farm), Sex Pistols (Black leather), Iggy and the Stooges (Raw power), Nazareth (Hair of the dog), The Misfits (Attitude).
A couple of the songs are pretty good actually, despite the fact that Duff McKagan tries to sing on many of the tracks. He doesn't even HAVE a singing voice. He just sucks.
Oh well.. New rose, Down on the farm, Human being, Black leather are worth checking out anyway. One song that absolutely doesn't fit in here, is Since I don't have you - it's a cover of some old 50's-song.. not very good at all.
Mostly the music in the songs here is ok, but the vocals in New rose, You can't put your arms around a memory, Attitude and Raw power done by Duff, almost destroys it all.
This is also the one GNR album I like the least. If you by any reason want to check out GNR, then buy "Use your illusion" 1 & 2, or "Appetite for destruction".
I dunno exactly what happened to GNR after this recording, they did a Rolling Stones cover for the motion picture "Interview with the vampire" the year after, but then I think Axl fired the whole band and put it on ice for a while. But now, as I'm writing this, he's "reformed" the band - but without the original members. It looks like Slash is going to join him though. We'll see what happens with that.
