    Rating:
Latest release from swedish Dark Tranquillity is an exhibition on how to make metal.
You take two guitarists, make them play some of the best melodies and riffs you can come up with. Then you add a bass player and drummer to form a rhythm section. Write some excellent lyrics. Make a guy sing them, with both the regular death metal (cookie monster) growl, AND clean vocals. Add some female vocals too, and your production should sound like this.
This is what DT has done. Well, maybe not this way... but the outcome is the same. You could call this a heavy/death metal hybrid, because you have the melodies and clean vox of HM, and the growl and riffs of "swedish west coast melodic death metal". They even have female vocals on one track ("Undo control").
This album really proves what skilled death metal musicians can do if they just try a little. Go buy this cd if you haven't already, now!
