Second album from british Paradise Lost, they've evolved a lot from
the death metal style they were doing on the first one, "Lost paradise" (Thank God).
Here they still have death metal vocals by Nick Holmes, but it's not very bad, a little
different from other death metal bands, but I can't complain. Though I have to say,
luckily he changed the style for the future albums.
The music on this one isn't much of a death metal standard though, it's much more melody
and feeling here. The guitarists play many great riffs and solos, and all together this is a
really nice album. If you liked "Draconian times" and "Icon", but haven't heard this, this album
could fit you very good if you only can stand the dark, brutal death vocals.
