During the time between "Born again" and the release of "The eternal idol"
strange things took place in Sabbath. First of all, Ian Gillan didn't
last long thank God, but around 85-86 Iommi did a solo album featuring
Glenn Hughes on vocals (I think anyway) under the label "Black Sabbath
featuring Tony Iommi" but anyway the album was really commercial and
crappy that's the biggest reason that I don't have it.
Then, during the recording of this very album they had a totally
unknown vocalist named Ray Gillen, but in the end he was fired (or left
the band, doesn't matter which for me) and the vocal tracks was replaced
by another unknown guy, Tony Martin, who isn't bad in any way IMO, I think
he's really underrated. He's got a great clean voice, goes higher sometimes
but that's fine with me since I dig some power metal :)
Also concerning this album, I think it's way too underrated this is a
really heavy album, in fact one of Sabbath's better ones. Although
not as great as the first 3 with Ozzy and those with Dio it's a very
strong album which I think every Sabbath fan could enjoy.
