All of you probably know what Demons & Wizards is about - Jon Schaffer of Iced Earth and
Hansi Kürsch of Blind Guardian on the same cd... kinda. :)
I expected it to be more BG-ish but... this is definitely more IE than BG.
It's a great metal album, when it comes to these guys it seems like nothing can go wrong.
Though, I hoped it would be another masterpiece like "Nightfall in Middle-earth" or at least
"Something wicked this way comes". It isn't. Can't really point out what's wrong but...
I think too much is "stolen" from Iced Earth, some of the riffs you even recognize directly
from some of their songs.
Well I complain too much... it's a great album as I said and a couple of the tracks, like
"Fiddler on the green" are more alike BG-songs like "The bard's song", "The wizard" or whatever.
You SHOULD be a fan of both bands to buy this, if you only listen to one of em it's alright but...
if you don't like any of em well... forget this.
Especially great songs here are: "Heaven denies", "Fiddler on the green", "Path of glory",
"Blood on my hands".
I dunno... perhaps I just gotta get into this more, like I did with BG's Nightfall... well
"time and only time will tell us" :)
Buy this, and enjoy!
