Not much "real metal" on this compilation, but some of the most classic rock songs ever created,
as well as a couple of early heavy metal tunes.
The reason I got this is that I developed a desire for having songs like Born to be wild,
Rockin' all over the world among others on cd.. and what's better than getting them
on a "ultimate best of rock music" compilation like this?
At first, I was a little disappointed with it though. I had expected songs like Sabbath's "Paranoid",
Survivor's "Eye of the tiger" to be on this one, but nope. Seems like I got some other version
than the one I have seen before (my sister has that version), so a couple of the songs are replaced.
Doesn't matter much, the song from Survivor (Burning heart) is another one, that's very similar to
"Eye of the tiger".
And apparently, Paranoid was replaced with Dio's Rock'n'roll children. That was a tougher deal
to accept though.
But if you look away from that small "mistake", this is a real good cd. Most of the songs are
great, but many (like Holding out for a hero) just makes me puke at all the 80's synth-pop-rock shit.
Many great classics like those mentioned, but also Motörhead's Ace of spades,
Blue Oyster Cult's (Don't fear) The reaper and Rainbow's
All night long.
A cd definitely worth having if you want a taste of some of the best rock music in history.
