Microvisc
Microvisc
MicroviscTM is a solution for intraocular surgery of the eye.
The active substance, hyaluronic acid, is extracted and purified from rooster combs.
The finished sterile viscoelastic solutions, manufactured by the dissolution of the
hyaluronic acid in 0.9% sodium cloride solution and phosphate buffer, is found in two concentrations
namely: MicroviscTM (10mg/ml) and MicroviscTM Plus (14mg/ml).
MicroviscTM is a non-inflammatory compound with exceptional coating
ability. For these reasons Microvisc protects delicate tissues in the
eye perfectly during surgery.
The viscoelastic properties of MicroviscTM ensures its return to the gel
state after passage through the cannula. Placed in the anterior
segment of the eye, MicroviscTM makes it possible to maneuver tissues
gently during surgical procedures. Due to its high viscosity, MicroviscTM
allows the maintenance of an optimal intraocular space. Its
transparency also ensures optimal visibility.
MicroviscTM is easily irrigated/aspirated at the end of the operation, in
order to minimize postoperative rise in intraocular pressure.
MicroviscTM and MicroviscTM Plus are available in sterile, ready-to-use
syringes. Each syringe contains a quantity of 0.55 ml or 0.85 ml -
optimal volumes for modern ophthalmic surgery.
