Description
MultiProxy is a small proxyserver that allows multiple computers to connect to an IRC-server or Ch@t-Up! server
through only ONE Internet connection. This proxy is very easy to use, you only have to start MultiProxy and click "Start". Thatīs it!
But you can also change some settings before you click the "Start" button. You can let the users choose their own server which
also allows the users to chat on different IRC-nets. Another option you have is to enable remote controlling, which is useful
if you would like to control MultiProxy from a client computer. To see a list of the commands available click here.
To connect from mIRC to the MultiProxy server you do as usual, type /server followed by the IP and Port (default:2000) of the proxy.
For instance: /server 196.137.32.14:2000
This is what MultiProxy looks like.
How to use MultiProxy
Here is a detailed description of how to configure, start and use MultiProxy.
Configuring:
- Enter the server address or IP in the "Server Address" field. (Ex. paranoia.dal.net)
- Enter the server port in the "Server Port" field. (Default 6667)
The following setting are optional, but useful.
- Set the maximum users limit.
- Change the Local Port if you want. (Default 2000)
- Check or uncheck "Allow mIRC users..." and/or "Remote control". If you check "Allow mIRC users..." then the mIRC users
may choose their own IRC server. The "Remote control" option makes it possible for you to control MultiProxy from another
computer through mIRC. REMEMBER TO SET A PASSWORD FIRST. Click here for a list of commands.
- Click Options --> Block/Allow IPs. Here you can block the IPs you donīt want and allow only
certain IPs to connect to MultiProxy. An allowed IP has higher priority than a blocked IP. The easiest way to block all IPs except
one is to: Block *.*.*.* and Allow the IPs one by one or in groups using * combined with numbers. If all IPs are allowed any user could
connect to your computer through the Internet.
Starting:
- Click "Start" after configuring, thatīs all.
Using and Connecting:
- Start mIRC.
- Type "/server ", Local IP of MProxy, semicolon and Local Port of MProxy. It could look like this: "/server 13.216.11.234:2000".
- Press Enter. If the users are not allowed to choose their own server you should get connected directly. Otherwise a msg should appear.
If it doesnīt work try reconnecting.
Donīt close that msg window, thatīs where you choose your server and control MultiProxy remotely. The msg contains information
about how you choose a server and control MP remotely.

to get connected, in case the user has troubles with that. The chat mode does only work when mIRC users are allowed
to chose their own server.
