My Favourite Youth Fantasy Books

For some reason, libraries and book shops consider some books "Youth Fantasy", and puts them in other places than the normal fantasy. Me, I don't agree on this, since some of the books below are in my opinion extremely good, and should not be referred to as "children's books".

I plan to write summaries of the books, but haven't gotten round to it yet. Bear with me.

Lloyd Alexander
The Chronicles of Prydain: (The Book of Three; The Black Cauldron; The Castle of Llyr; Taran Wanderer; The High King)
This is REALLY good youth fantasy, with roots in celtic/welsh mythology. This is still one of my favorite series and gets a good 4 our of five seer pigs.

Susan Cooper
(Over sea under stone ; Darkness falls (correct title?) ; Green Witch; The Grey King; The Silver Tree)
VERY well-written books taking place in our time, but connected to the Arthur-legend. I recommend it warmly. This serie gets a very good 4 our of five Crystal Swords.

Michael Ende
The Neverending Story:
A classic. Very well-written and well worth to ponder upon. If you've seen the movies, forget them and start read the book - it's SO much better! It's worth 4 our of five magic books.

C.S Lewis
The Chronicles of Narnia: (The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardobe; The Horse and His Boy; Prince Caspian; The Voyage of the Dawn Treader; The Silver Chair; The Magician's Nephew; The Last Battle)
This is another true classic series that HAVE to be read. Gets a 4 our of 5 wonderful Lions.
