Skjutet's winning streak of seven matches over,

when they lose away to Solängen, 1-0. This meant that the teams changed places in the table, when Skjutet drops to third. The evening sun was gently sinking behind the neighbourhood. Solängen's pitch is this year unfortunately the gravel pitch, Skjutet visited also last year. For some reason Solängen can no longer use the grass pitch nearby. So, amidst the dust (felt more like cement with a thin cover of macadam) and the slanting sun, 22 player tried their best to keep up a decent quality of play. This did not show. Early on it showed that Solängen play solely on longballs and a dull game, that feels more like the years in division 8, playing constantly on gravel pitches. Skjutet proved unable to find their own, more attractive play, instead they fell into Solängen's destructive and boring handling.

Early on Solängen had a lethal header that hits the left post only inches from the top corner. Also, when Jerker holds the ball too long before he's about to put it into play (9 seconds according to the ref, 3 more than the allowed 6 seconds), Solängen are given a freekick just 15 ft. from the goalline. Fortunately the shot is lame and misdirected, and the scoreline stands. Skjutet then have a couple of good chances, for instance when Bo Aztor breaks away and nearly gets it past the keeper. But just before halftime Skjutet score. On a chip towards the penalty area from Anders Grehn, Jesper Palmqvist flicks a header on to Patrik Spång, who basically just follows the ball past the much too late keeper, and into the net. Almost everyone is surprised by the call that follows. The referee calls for a freekick, for Solängen, due to a supposed foul by Spång on his way towards the goal. Prepostrous! But it is clear at halftime that BK Skjutet keeps too much distance between themselves and Solängen's players. It made Skjutet chase the ball too much.

The second half is almost less entertaining. Long balls are played through the desert-like winds when gravel is lifted, and the midfielders take less part of the match. At the end there is a feeling that either team can score, when fatigue and frustration came in. This time it's Solängen, when they pick up a loose ball played into the box and find the near corner for the win.

So, with the first loss of the season the next match facing Kurdistan is very important, even though most results this week served BK Skjutet well. Skjutet now dropped to fourth spot and quickly need a win to repair any lost confidence. It will be a blessing to come back to the home pitch and play on the artificial grass of Heden. /JP
